We're going to be on a plane to Cyprus in two days. Woohoooo! I'm very excited at the prospect of going away. And that I don't have to be in school next week, and that I'm going to be sunning myself on a beach, swimming in the sea and in a gorgeous swimming pool, and stuff.
The only problem was that our washing machine broke last Sunday, so we've had to do a load of washing by hand (I went round the house and gathered all our underwear together and shoved it in a bathful of soapy hot water, left it to soak for a while before going back and scrubbing it by hand. Not fun.). Still, at least we have lots of vouchers that we can spend at John Lewis, so we can get a washing machine with the vouchers when we get back.
Went to the family planning clinic today, to get more pills. The waiting room was practically full... it took me about 40 minutes to get seen, and I was in and out in three minutes then. She took my blood pressure - something I never really find very pleasant, but always seems fine.
She also told me that in the first two months or so of coming off the pill, women tend to fall pregnant easier. So when Jonathan and I are ready for a family, hopefully it won't take too long to fall pregnant. Strange how, that when you're a teenager, and just starting to experiment, you are terrified of becoming pregnant, and now... I know I can stave off pregnancy by using a pill, etc, but I don't know for certain that I CAN become pregnant... so who's to say whether I am fertile or not? I guess it's just a case of when we're ready for a family, trying, and if I get pregnant, we're obviously fertile.
Now we're married, I do want to have a family as soon as we can... although I totally agree that we need to wait until we are living in a bigger place... one preferably with three bedrooms, so we can convert one into a study if necessary, and still have a bedroom for the baby.
It'll be so nice to have a decent sized house, rather than having to cram everything into four rooms. Ooooh to have a living room AND a dining room AND three bedrooms, as well as a nice spacious hallway, kitchen and bathrooms... oooh and a GARDEN! Would be fantastic. People who have a house with some or all of these are probably reading this thinking, so what? Every house has a dining room doesn't it? Or at least a garden... well no... we live in a top floor maisonette with only four rooms (kitchen, livingroom, bathroom and bedroom), and with a patch of weeds out the front with no shed (we did keep our lawnmower (actually a hover mower) and strimmer in a cupboard on the hallway to begin with, but now we keep it in our downstairs neighbour's shed with their permission (and with their occasional use of our stuff). Oooh, to have a back garden, with grass... and a barbecue... and maybe some patio furniture so we could eat outside if it's nice weather... *dreams*. Well, once we come back from our honeymoon... house hunting with the purpose of keeping our current residence to rent out will be next on the agenda... so hopefully that will work out soon, and that we'll be able to have a family... oooh that would be lovely.
Anyway, I've rambled on enough now about babies and houses and stuff.
I probably won't be around for about 2 weeks now, so feel free to leave lots of nice messages for me to return to... I've lost track recently of who reads this, so if you do, and if you find what I write the least bit interesting, leave me a note or write me a guestbook entry to let me know you care and that I'm not just writing to an empty audience... that would be a lovely surprise to return to...
Well... see you all later, and thanks for reading!!
