As I joined Pieces of You a while ago and haven't submitted yet, I'll do one now. Hell, it might help me update more often than I have recently with less depressing entries.
The topic this week is "I Say ... And You Think ..." Ten words were chosen randomly, and I'm going to say some words that pop into my head when I think of them. Then, I'm going to expand on one of them.
- Peanut Butter
Lumpy, disgusting. - Insatiable
Hungry, full of desire, wanting more, desperation, greed. - Daisies
Calm, white, beautiful, simple, childhood, daisychains, springtime, summertime, warm, loving. - Chewed Gum
Squishy, slimy, sticky. Not very nice. - Gang
Bullies, crime gangs, roudy teenagers. - Thunder
Noisy, rumbling, powerful, mysterious. - Monster
Scary, deformed, evil, Monster's Inc film. - Soda Pop
American, fizzy, artificial. - Insecure
Scared, worried, feeling as though you are disliked for looks/personality. - Forest
Dark, green, trees, creatures, scary.
I think because all my recent entries have been a bit depressing, I should choose something a bit more positive to expand on.
And I think for this I will choose "Daisies".
Daisies have always been a part of my life. From when I was a small girl, sitting on the school field with my friends and making daisy chains, to now. So small, delicate and simple, you see them everywhere throughout spring and summer time. Their white petals and bright yellow center are so cheery and happy.
While people refer to the ones you find on the lawn as weeds, I think they are a beautiful sight on a boring patch of green.
A few years ago, I met a lady who loved the simplicity of daisies. She loved them more than any other flower, and over the last few years, I grew to love her as well. When she died, her coffin had but a bunch of daisies on top, simple, delicate and beautiful, like her.
I made a template dedicated to her a while ago, called simple beauty. It is located here.
