Just realised, that in the long time I've had this diary, I've not done a cast page! (although I had done one for my old (hosted-by-the-ex) diary)
So here it is!
Jonathan | Mum | Dad | Stephen | Helen | Dave | Caroline | Betsy | Steve | Naomi | Anne | Nan
Keith | Lucy | Gavan | Mags | Paul | Work Colleagues
Jonathan is my fiancé and live-in partner. We met for the first time on the 28th March 2001 (My friend Keith's birthday!), when we went out for a meal and a chat. We had known each other since the previous November though, when during my depression, he sent me mails to cheer me up under the pseudonim "Mr X". Little did I know it was the gorgeous Mr Hunt, but I found out his identity at the beginning of December, after which we became good friends, emailling and calling each other regularly. When I broke up with my ex, it didn't take me very long to realise that I wanted to get to know Jonathan better, and became boyfriend and girlfriend on the 7th May 2001. We got engaged in December, now share a flat in Aylesbury, UK, and plan to marry in the next two years or so.
Also known as Yvonne, she lives in Kent as do most of my family. I moved in with her three years after she separated from my dad, and lived with her until I went to uni. Yes, as the typical teenager I got annoyed with her, as she did me, but not seeing her as much now means that our relations are better. She's a smoker, and has been since she and dad split up, but that's just a minor annoying thing about mum. On the whole, I love her, and wouldn't be without her!
Also known as Clive, he lives with his wife Caroline, and Helen, and Minnie, the cat. He loves beer and barbecues, and prefers to go abroad by ferry rather than the aeroplane. Now, my dad can be annoying too, especially when he's got an opinion, because he'll try and make you see his point, and doesn't seem to want to see yours. But he's lovely, and wouldn't do without him either!
Stephen's my older brother by two years, ten months, three days and twelve hours exactly. While he's got blond hair and blue eyes, and I've got brown hair and green/hazel eyes, I found it difficult to imagine that we could look similar at all, until I saw this photograph of the two of us together, fighting over an icecube or something... we've got the same nose, same cheekbones, same chin, and hell, we both wear glasses! Needless to say, we fought like crazy when we were kids, but things are much better now, and I can even say that we're friends! He's a laugh to be around.. definitely.
Helen's my fairly new sister. She's Caroline's daughter, and my dad adopted her a few years ago, so she's technically my adopted half sister. She's only five months younger than me, which is nice, because we can have sensible conversations when we feel like it, and sometimes we can have silly conversations, and we don't feel too silly for doing it. :-) She's an avid Christian, and so she's trying to live as Christ would want her to. If you ask me, she's doing a pretty good job. She's not perfect by any means, but she knows it, so that's her most of the way there. Kind, funny and sensitive are three words I would use to sum Helen up with.
Dave is my Mum's partner. He lives with her now, which took them ages to do, considering they've been together pretty much since my parents separated (which was in 1992-ish)! He's a coach driver, and he's a very laid-back person. He doesn't anger easily, but when he does, you'd better watch out! I've only seen lose his temper once, and it scared the hell out of me. Probably because I'd never seen him remotely angry before, and it was a shock to the system. He's by no means a second dad, but a friendly familiar face.
Dad's wife. She's very similar in looks to Helen, but quite a bit plumper and disabled on her right hand side. She too is very laid-back and friendly, and I guess I do kinda see her like a second mum. Probably partly because she's married to dad, but also because she's got such a warm personality, and she sometimes mothers me when we go to stay there, like making me cups of tea in the morning or whatever. She's a lovely lady.
Betsy is Jonathan's mum. I've spent quite a lot of time getting to know her, as I've stayed over there quite a lot at weekends, and during some weeks. At first I wasn't quite sure if she liked me or not, but I found out that she's quite a private person, and spends a lot of her time in the garden anyway, and the times I've spent chatting to her has been nice. She's a very "mummy" type woman. By that, I don't mean she likes wrapping herself up in bandages, but she's the image of a mother I get in my head. She's a very friendly and hospitable woman.
Steve is Jonathan's dad. I don't know him as well really, as he's out working all day, but he too is a friendly warm man, who takes the time to make you welcome. He's a radio and Mini fanatic, and likes to spend time on his computer and down in his radio shed in the garden. Both Betsy and Steve go to the local Baptist church.
Jonathan's sister, who is a couple of years older than Stephen (my brother), and a couple of years younger than Jonathan. She's been a vegetarian for ages, but has recently become a vegan, due to working for an animal sanctuary charity. She travelled the world for a year, and can play the piano really well (in my opinion anyway).
Also known as Grannie Annie, is Jonathan's batty grandma. She's not very well at the moment, so when I went to stay recently, she needed me to help her a lot with various things, and she's also very generous, more than she ought to be! She writes poetry and likes "playing" all sorts of sports like football and tennis. Really, she likes watching them on the telly. She lives next door to Jonathan's parents.
Usually meaning my mum's mum. She's a darling, I love seeing her. She let her house get into an unmanagable state though, so she's living with her boyfriend (manfriend?) while my mum and uncle clear it up. They've been at it since March, and haven't finished yet. A very big job, but Mum's been at it like a trogan. However, I might mention the other set of grandparents every now and then, but as I hardly see them, I'll not write a thing about them in here yet.
Keith is an old IRC friend who I've known for a few years now. He's at York University doing something to do with computers and maths or something. A kind and sensitive guy, always ready to lend an ear if you're in a rut. Also, apparently he's just the kinda guy you want to take you home. And he has a girlfriend now, so you can't date him. Muahahahaha.
Lucy's another IRC friend, although she's friendlier with my brother, as they're always together! ;-) I don't know her too well, except that when I see her, she's practically always bubbly and happy, although I know that's not always the case. :-( But a lovely girl. 3 years to the day my senior.
The ex-boyfriend. I was with him for just over two years, before we spontaneously combusted and I was forced to seek partnership in the wonderful Jonathan.
Also known as John, he's one of Jonathan's friends from uni. Short, blonde and living in a huge house are the main things I think of when I think of him.. mainly because I'm jealous. ;-) He's got a girlfriend who lives in Scotland most of the time, and a sense of humour I don't always understand...
Paul's Jonathan's best friend from ages ago, in the village he grew up in. A thoroughly nice chap, married to Vikki. He has a sense of humour I can relate more to... ;-)
In my diary, I refer to my work colleagues by initials. LE is the woman whom I job-share with. LY, LC, and MS are other colleagues with similar jobs. MY and MB are also colleagues. EL was my first-in-line boss, who recently left to work for another school. TG has taken her place. And GH is, at the moment, my only friend amongst my colleagues, although now I can't really call her such, as I don't work with her anymore, although we work in the same school. That's all of them, just about.
