Hey, big spender!

Wow, it's been a while...

Yay... bank holiday weekend again, which means no work tomorrow! And a four day week when I do!

I had quite a good day on Friday... one of the girls who started in January came in crying on Wednesday, was off Thursday, and again came in crying on Friday. This is the same girl who used to only croak the odd word to me when I prompted her. I made her the helper on Friday, which basically means the helper puts the register away, does the weather chart, and gives out the milks at the end of the day. As soon as I showed her her helper name, she cheered up straight away. And what's more, she said so much more to me than just the odd word. I was so happy to see how much she'd come out of her shell, and yes, she is a very bright girl, and already knows a lot of English.

Thursday however, when I was walking home, it was raining, and all I could think about was the negative bits of the day, like when another member of staff snapped at me. I'm sure that I'm not very liked by the other members of staff. I don't know why... I try my hardest to be friendly and helpful. Like I say, LY went shopping with me, but it was only the once, and all the time I felt as though we were strangers going shopping together. I kind of hoped we'd bond as gal pals or something, but no such thing happened.

People at work are the only people in town I know, apart from parents of children, and Jonathan, so my relationships with them are so important, and at the moment, they're flagging a bit. Still, I am the most recent addition to the staff. The rest have been there at least a year or two. It's unrealistic for me to think I'd be pally with them when I've barely been there 6 months.

Still, getting on well with the reception teacher I'm with for an hour in the mornings. And she lives barely five minutes away, so maybe I'll form a good friendship with her over the coming weeks.

We're seeing Mum tomorrow. Dave's working, and I think Mum's a little bored at home all weekend on her own... bank holiday weekend at that, so she's coming to see us, which'll be nice. Although we'll have to clear this pigsty a little before she gets here. :-) Dad's been arranging for his graduation ceremony. He's got a masters in science, I think, and there's only going to be close family going to the ceremony, but then Jonathan, Nicky and Matthew will be joining us for a meal in London.

Anyway, sorry for such a long entry, I've tried to encorporate a bit of everything, daily stuff, a bit of emotion, and also....

Design site updates! Two more over at Raging Pistachio Designs... one of a train, which was used by someone barely 12 hours after posting! And a really drop dead cute one of a cat and a dog, which I've also changed to be the featured design.

So yeah... looking forward to the upcoming week... on Wednesday we'll have been together for two years, and we're going out to a posh restaurant that night, and then a week today, we're going to go on our hot air balloon ride (hopefully, weather permitting). Jonathan and I went shopping for each other yesterday, and I reckon one of the things I've bought is exactly the same as one of the things he's bought... we'll have to wait and see. I also bought a book about writing novels... sort of a tip sheet type book. So I'll be asking Sammy or Andrew to make that diary available again somepoint soon, when I do more of the novel. I really want to finish that novel, because the plot line is sooo good! In my opinion. But I'm sure all my fans out there would agree. I also bought Rummikub, which is a very good and addictive board type game. And it's not a kid's game, which you might think by the name... So yeah, Jonathan and I have played a game or six so far. :-)

And now that's all. Thank you for reading, and good night!
